Yes, the china plates are “real.” So are the forks and spoons. You can figure out why there are so many, just from the title. Nothing heavy here. But one funny anecdote I’ll share. My mother, who at 91 is as vibrant as ever, always used to steal a bite of my dessert. She claimed that didn’t add to her calorie count. One time her fork sneaked across the table for a bit of Dutch apple pie. She chewed and paused, and with a perplexed look on her face, said, “Hmmm. This tastes like bubble gum.” She’d speared the piece of chewed gum I’d set aside on the plate.
